The division
of computer depends upon the design and working of computer
Which differ
on the type of data that we insert and in the form of its output following are
the different types of computer
Analogue
computers:
An analogue computer accepts data in
continuous or physical format, to perform scientific techniques. Analogue data includes distance
measurement, speed calculation, temperature. Fluids flow, voltage and current
measurement. these are special purpose computer can be used for complex
scientific and mathematical problems. These
are also used in industry to
control certain processes. Analogue computers are very
fast in their processing but are not accurate.
Digital
computers:
Digital computers are general purpose
computers. They are in many shapes and sizes. It handle
data in the form of digits represent it in the term of discrete numbers and
processes numbers using various arithmetic and logic
operations. They are used for scientific and technical researches, business, education,
healthcare, supermarket, banking, factories and much more.
Hybrid
Computers:
Hybrid computer combines best features of
analogue and digital computers they are special purpose computer which are fast
and accurate . they help the user to handle both in analogue and digital problems.
These machines are used in scientific fields and in monitoring industrial processes
, also used in hospitals to carry out
medical investigations and to watch patience health state in intensive care
units in ICU and alerts the doctors to handle any problematic situations, spaceships, guided missiles technology
etc.
Super
computers:
They are the largest fastest and most costly
computers. They are used to tackle complicated problems. These have extra
ordinary computing power required by large organization , scientific laboratories,
aerospace centers , large industrial units, research laboratories . they are
also used for space exploration , weather forecasting , aircraft design and nuclear
researches.
